On Saturday, August 24, 2024, join us for a day of photo events to celebrate our 30th Anniversary with Marc Glucksman of River Rail Photo!

Day Event - "Morning In The Railyard"

$30 (limited to 40 tickets) - Starting at 8:30 AM

The museum will open at 8:30 AM for ticketed participants, allowing for morning light photography of our historic fleet. Some of the rolling stock will be arranged in unique locations for this event, including our newest piece, Amtrak AEM-7 917. New York Central S1 #100, which is presently being repainted for the first time in over 40 years, will not only be accessible for photos, but interior pics as well (the interior will not be open the rest of the day). Participants will also have the opportunity to photograph a locomotive on our turntable and take exclusive tours of the inside of our equipment. This includes general admission to the museum, and a Railyard Local Train Ride Ticket for the duration of the day.

Night Event - “Twilight And The Turntable”

$50 (limited to 25 tickets) - Starting at 7:15 PM

The second part of the event features our rolling stock at night. Pieces will include (but are not limited to) New York Central Electrics 100 and 278, New Haven FL-9 2006, Amtrak AEM-7 917, Boston & Maine 2-6-0 1455 and more! The event will feature staged flash lighted scenes with our equipment, period dressed actors, and vintage automobiles. If you have never been to a night shoot like this before, don’t worry - all you need to do is bring the suggested items below and we will provide instruction.

We recommend that you bring the following items to this event for the best experience:

  • Appropriate footwear for uneven surfaces and possibly wet conditions

  • Extra clothing layers (this event is primarily outdoors, and evening temperatures can cool considerably)

  • DSLR/Mirrorless camera with manual settings (using a cell phone as your camera will not maximize this experience)

  • Extra batteries

  • Tripod

  • Trigger release cord or remote trigger

  • Standard and wide-angle lenses

During the day - After taking some more time to explore the museum’s extensive collection of rolling stock, artifacts, and memorabilia, enjoy some of the restaurants in the area.
