The Danbury Railway Museum is proud to partner with Operation Toy Train to collect toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Throughout the month of November, we’ll be collecting toys at our museum to bring the joy of Christmas to the less fortunate youth in the Danbury area. Visitors to our museum in November receive one free general admission per donated toy!
Operation Toy Train is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that uses trains to collect donated toys and deliver them to the Marines. They provide the largest single donation to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation on the east coast, with over 35,000 toys collected annually. We’re pleased to partner with them to expand their efforts!
We encourage our visitors to come out during our regular opening hours in November to donate new toys (no wrapping paper, please!) to be collected in our historic station. Every visitor who donates a toy will enjoy free general admission to our museum! All toys that we collect will be delivered to the local Toys for Tots campaign and will be re-distributed within the immediate Danbury area, keeping your donations local and benefitting less fortunate children in our neighborhoods.
